ACCESS STATEMENT - NORTH BUCKHAM FARM

BED AND BREAKFAST

INTRODUCTION
A family farm, we offer accommodation in our farmhouse and aim to be flexible, where possible to cater for the needs of our guests. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific queries please contact us so we can advise and help. We have Wi-Fi Internet access.

PRE-ARRIVAL
Nearest bus stop is 2 miles away in Beaminster.
Nearest train station is 15 minutes away by car at Crewkerne.
Our contact details are given at the end of this statement.

ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES
The Farmhouse is accessed via a half-mile driveway; it has an uneven surface we suggest driving at maximum 10m.p.h.
Car parking is adjacent to the front door.
There is a gentle gradient down to the front door entrance, where there are three steps up with a handrail to your left.
Small threshold into outer entrance hall 1.3m x 1.48m

MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
Door into downstairs inner hallway is 1.73m high.
Guests are offered tea/coffee in lounge on arrival.
Facilities explained and escorted to rooms.

STAIRS
13 open wooden stairs up to first floor, handrail on left hand side, at top of stairs one-step up on your left hand side.
Stairs and landing have excellent lighting with manual switches.

LANDING
Well lit with manual lighting switches.
Half way along is entrance door to suite with secure lockable door.

BEDROOMS/SUITE
The suite is on the first floor along the landing.
On entering the suite the bathroom is on your left hand side and the two bedrooms are up three steps, handrail on your right.
Carpets are all fitted short pile, lino on floor in bathroom.
Lights are fitted with low energy bulbs.
Bedroom 1 has a 6' bed, which can be split to make a twin.
Bedroom 2 has a set of twin beds.
Each bedroom has a chair, mirror, hanging space and chest of drawers.
Heating is by thermostatically controlled electric heaters
Bedroom 1 has a remote television with freeview & d.v.d, tea/coffee tray, alarm/radio and hair dryer. Ironing facilities available on request.

BATHROOM
Door width 66cm, inward opening.
Bath with integral shower, bath edge height is 53cm.
Basin edge height is 80cm and has built in cupboard underneath.
Toilet is 41cm high and is next to basin.
Electric heater left of toilet with towel rail above.
White suite, mid blue walls, wood bath panels, wood effect lino.
Light above basin and on ceiling next to bath.

PUBLIC AREAS
Guest dining/living area has wooden floor, two rugs with non-slip underlay.
Local reference books, maps & games available.
We have no downstairs guest toilet.

DINING & LIVING AREA
Breakfast is served in the ground floor dining area.
Oval dining table 74cm high, double pedestal legs.
Chairs have no arms and can be moved.
Special diets catered for, we may ask in advance for advice.
Help yourself to cereal, juice, fruit and yoghurts.
Full English Breakfast cooked fresh to order, local/own produce where possible.

LAUNDRY SERVICE
We do not offer laundry service, however we are more than happy to dry outerwear and foot wear where necessary and to do one load of washing for those staying for a week after the third night.

SHOPS
Nearest Shops are in Beaminster are 2 miles.
Beaminster is a small market town. It offers a chemist, post office, cash point, gift shops, galleries, tearooms, 2 pubs, The wild Garlic restaurant, but no garage for fuel. Early closing on Wednesday.

GROUNDS
We have a grass area with table and chairs for guest use, this has a spectacular view over rolling countryside, has one step down to it and is in front of the house. At the back we have a trampoline, swings and slide.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bedroom 1 and 2 are adjacent and give good access.
There is a small fridge for guest use and fresh milk is put in daily.
We have a No Smoking policy throughout the premises.
There will be someone here to greet you on arrival.
Arrival time is 4p.m. if arriving after 6p.m. please let us know.
Departure time is 11a.m.

FIRE POLICY Our smoke detectors are mains connected and tested regularly. We have fire extinguisher on landing and a Safe-T-Light in family suite.

ALLERGIES
We have cats, which do come in the farmhouse and a border terrier who is not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. If you are dog and cat allergic we do not recommend you stay in the farmhouse, however our self-catering cottage never has pets in so would be suitable.
